“l believe Pilates should be fun and functional. I aim to educate my clients on the essence of the movement as this will stay with them long after the session ends and into their everyday life. It involves mental focus to train your body to move optimally through both athletic activities and everyday life. Once a client starts to incorporate Pilates principles of proper biomechanics and functional alignment into what they do daily, they begin to move. This translates into more energy, less pain, improved endurance and strength, an elated mood, and an increased sense of empowerment. To be able to do what we love more often and with greater ease makes people happier, improves their quality of life and spreads positive energy!

Our Classes

Pilates is a specific series of exercises developed by Joseph Pilates to strengthen muscles, improve core strength, increase flexibility and stability, and improve overall health. Putting a fun, creative spin on the 34 mat exercises developed by Joseph Pilates, our Pilates mat classes uses your body weight to strengthen and tone the body. We utilize props such as the BOSU ball, foam roller, stability balls, light hand weights, resistance bands, and the fitness circle, as well as many others. The use of these props keeps our classes interesting and ensures you that you will never take the same class twice!

Our Policies

Like all exercise programs, Pilates is a commitment to yourself. Adhering to a consistent schedule is the only way to achieve the results you desire. Of course, extenuating circumstances are always taken into consideration. Due to the personal attention and hands-on nature of our classes, all classes require a 24 hour cancellation, otherwise your account will be charged. Packages are essential to secure your place in a time slot and day as space is limited. Personal Pilates packages have expirations in order to achieve the results our clients have come to expect. All packages expire from the date of the first class. No exceptions.

What are the benefits of Pilates?

FAQS

The fundamental Pilates workout can be performed on a Pilates mat alone, and great results can be achieved through beginner, intermediate and advanced moves. However, the various equipment pieces such as the Reformer, Tower and Chair incorporate light spring resistance that works like concentric and eccentric muscle contractions to safely sculpt, tone and stretch the muscles. The better workout is truly a personal decision. A qualified Pilates instructor can help you make this decision. We recommend you try each type and often times our clients combine styles.
We recommend our Introductory Package of 3 private sessions for $210.00. Our Introductory Package is designed to give you a feel for the Pilates method and Personal Pilates Studio. More importantly, the personal attention allows us the opportunity to see you move, identify your strengths, weaknesses, and get a better understanding of your personal fitness goals.

Women find Pilates to be one of the best exercise to do, both during and after pregnancy. Pilates is great at building core strength. If your abdominals, back and pelvic floor/kegal muscles are toned, they will support a more comfortable pregnancy and delivery. Pilates is also great for helping get back your figure after the baby. Another reason Pilates exercise is great for pregnancy it can be modified as your body and abilities change. The modifications help you keep the intent of the exercise, but adjust the form to work for your body.

Like any exercise program, Pilates is a commitment. In order to see results, one must resolve ones self to work out on a consistent basis. Find the balance that works for you. We recommend 2-4 times per week. This kind of regular, consistent practice will help you make the mind-body connection. You should start seeing and feeling results in about 10 to 15 sessions.
We recommend you wear comfortable clothing, but not to loose. It is important for the instructor to see your alignment. Shoes are not worn and socks should be worn to all classes for sanitary purposes. Long necklaces and large bracelets should not be worn and long hair should be tied back.
