“l believe Pilates should be fun and functional. I aim to educate my clients on the essence of the movement as this will stay with them long after the session ends and into their everyday life. It involves mental focus to train your body to move optimally through both athletic activities and everyday life. Once a client starts to incorporate Pilates principles of proper biomechanics and functional alignment into what they do daily, they begin to move. This translates into more energy, less pain, improved endurance and strength, an elated mood, and an increased sense of empowerment. To be able to do what we love more often and with greater ease makes people happier, improves their quality of life and spreads positive energy!
Pilates is a specific series of exercises developed by Joseph Pilates to strengthen muscles, improve core strength, increase flexibility and stability, and improve overall health. We utilize props such as the BOSU ball, foam roller, stability balls, light hand weights, resistance bands, and the fitness circle, as well as many others. The use of these props keeps our classes interesting and ensures you that you will never take the same class twice!

Women find Pilates to be one of the best exercise to do, both during and after pregnancy. Pilates is great at building core strength. If your abdominals, back and pelvic floor/kegal muscles are toned, they will support a more comfortable pregnancy and delivery. Pilates is also great for helping get back your figure after the baby. Another reason Pilates exercise is great for pregnancy it can be modified as your body and abilities change. The modifications help you keep the intent of the exercise, but adjust the form to work for your body.
Renee has been teaching Pilates for 16 years, independently for 13 years. She started out as a certified AFFA instructor teaching strength training classes. The process of becoming a Pilates instructor was and continues to be an extensive on going commitment. Renee’s training consists of full completion in the STOTT PILATES™ program and continuing education work shops.
Pairing this technical knowledge with her kind and caring nature, allows Renee to devote individualized attention to each of her students. My goals as a Pilates instructor and studio owner: Whether you are in a Private Reformer session or a six person Mat Class you receive personal, hands-on attention. This attention allows Personal Pilates to monitor your form, and breathing, assuring you that you are achieving optimal benefits for each exercise. At Personal Pilates, clients walk away from each session having completed not only a full body workout, but also with a better knowledge of how their bodies actually work.
